Aomori - Beschreibung
Winter in Aomori
Zugegebenermassen war ich nur wenige Stunden in Aomori. Sah recht verschlafen aus, und von zwei Museen einmal abgesehen scheint es nicht allzu viel zu geben. Das Stadtzentrum sah auch nicht allzu interessant aus. Als Sprungbrett gen Hokkaidō ist es jedoch nützlich. Die Stadt hat knapp 300'000 Einwohner und ist Verwaltungssitz der gleichnamigen Präfektur.
Anreise
Die JR Tsugaru Kaikyō JR津軽海峡線 (Japanese RailwaysTsugaru-Meerenge) betreibt Züge von Aomori direkt nach
Hakodate 函館 auf Hokkaidō 北海道.
Dauert 2 bis 2½ Stunden. Man fährt dabei durch den Seikan-Tunnel 青函トンネル - der zweitlängste der Welt. Die Fahrt kostet gut 5'000 Yen im Express und 3'090 Yen im weniger schnellen Schnellzug. Auch Boote fahren nach Hakodate - das Schnellboot ist schneller als der Zug und kostet ebenfalls um die 5000 Yen.
Der schnellste Weg von Tokyo führt erstmal nach Hachinohe 八戸 im Osten der Präfektur - mit dem Shinkansen dauert das drei Stunden. Von dort fahren Züge der JR Tōhoku Honsen JR東北本線 nach Aomori (mit dem Express "Tsugaru" eine knappe Stunde). Die Shinkansen-Trasse wird momentan erweitert und
soll später bis Aomori reichen. Schnellzüge und normale Züge fahren auch nach Hirosaki 弘前 und weiter nach Akita 秋田. Nach Hirosaki dauert
es keine halbe Stunde.
